About us

Roho, Amani, Nia, LLC

At Roho, Amani, Nia, we believe that healing is not limited to the mind—it is experienced through the body, nurtured through connection, and grounded in purpose.

Our name, derived from Kiswahili—Roho (Spirit), Amani (Peace), and Nia (Purpose)—reflects our commitment to supporting individuals in living more aligned, balanced, and intentional lives. We offer a holistic approach to mental health that integrates traditional psychotherapy with somatic movement, allowing clients to explore, process, and release what is held within the body.

Through the use of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), combined with therapeutic dance and expressive arts, we create a space where healing becomes both felt and understood.

We serve individuals, couples, and groups, providing experiences that are not only therapeutic, but also empowering, engaging, and deeply transformative.

Rooted in both clinical expertise and culturally grounded practices, Roho, Amani, Nia honors the long-standing tradition of movement, rhythm, and community as tools for healing—while offering innovative approaches that meet the needs of today.

✨ Our Approach

We recognize that:

  • The body holds experiences, including stress, trauma, and emotion
  • Healing requires both awareness and expression
  • Movement can access what words cannot

Our work is designed to help clients:

  • reconnect with their bodies
  • regulate their nervous systems
  • gain insight into their experiences
  • and move toward lasting change

🌿 Meet the Founder

Amani Nyansa, LCSW-C, CEAT is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Expressive Arts Therapist with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field.

Amani’s work is rooted in a deep belief that healing must go beyond traditional talk therapy. She integrates somatic movement, expressive arts, and culturally grounded practices to support individuals in reconnecting with their bodies and reclaiming their sense of self.

As the creator of a therapeutic dance framework, Amani brings a unique and innovative approach to mental health—one that allows clients to explore emotions, release what is held within, and access parts of themselves that may have been disconnected through life experiences.

Her work is especially centered on creating spaces where individuals, particularly Black women, feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing journeys.

Amani is also a doctoral student, committed to advancing culturally responsive and body-centered approaches within social work practice and education.
